Our Mission: The Mekong Descent Foundation is an advocacy and action focused group that strives to ensure that the negative impacts of the Mekong Cascade Dam Scheme are acknowledged and acted upon particularly at the grass roots level by all relevant sectors to ensure that Mekong subsistence peoples are not thrust into greater poverty as a result of the mega dams and that adequate steps are taken to limit the dams impacts on the regions ecology.
Our Vision: It will take the combined efforts of a range of stake holders to address the impacts of the Mekong cascade upon the rivers peoples and environments. Our vision is that the Mekong’s key stake holders including the Dam Builders, Governments, Communities, The Mass Media, NGO’s and the public will be compelled through effective advocacy, actions and initiatives to acknowledge and act upon the imminent impacts of the Mekong cascade at the grass roots level and beyond. |
